Streamlabs Events on Chat Widget

So, you just bought one of the fancy new chat widgets that has built in events eh? Well, out of the box for Streamlabs this feature needs to be set-up following a SUPER EASY process. Lets jump right into it!

First things first! Head over to this link -> https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/settings/api-settings

This will bring you to a page that looks like this.


Once here, click -> API Settings - > API Tokens

You should now see this.

Click "COPY" on "Your Socket API Token". 

DO NOT SHARE THIS KEY WITH ANYONE. This key basically acts are your Streamlabs password.

Now the hard part is over with! Just one more step! Head back over to your chat widget. And go to the "Custom Fields" section. There, all the way at the bottom. You will find "Streamlabs Websocket Key". Just paste the key your copied earlier into that field and press Save.

WHEW! Now that's its all finished. Its time to test! After adding the chat widget to your favorite streaming software. You can go to https://streamlabs.com/dashboard#/alertbox and click on some test events to make sure it's working correctly.
